Taking away the Swiss Beach

I already talked about the Swiss Beach back in May. Back then I was looking for a Swiss Bitch but didn’t find one. This time I saw some but I wasn’t interested. I was more interested in the Swiss Beach deck chairs.

The Swiss Beach deck chair take away

As the Swiss Beach was a project during the Euro 2008 and the Euro is over by now, the Strandbar Herrmann is changing back their deck chairs to the regular ones. So today, the Swiss Beach was selling their deck chairs for the benefit of a charity project. To get a Swiss Beach deck chair, you had to donate at least 10 Euro to the charity project of Ms. Ute Bock who is helping fugitives.

The place was crowded with people who didn’t want to miss the opportunity to get an official souvenir of the Swiss Beach. My sweetheart and I managed to get four deck chairs nevertheless. We took four chairs because there were different designs. One for each Swiss Euro 2008 town. We got Zurich, Basel, Geneva and Bern.

Schweizerhaus and Wiener Prater

After visiting the Wiener Kriminalmuseum we were hungry as a hunter (I almost bit into a mummy … ). So we decided to go to the Schweizerhaus (info at Wikipedia).

The Schweizerhaus is located in the Wurstelprater (amusement park/funfair). After lunch my mum wanted to go for a ride with the ghost train.

Death is just the beginning

Mother’s Day. Spend some time with your mother, honor her and fulfill all her wishes.

Mine wanted to visit the Wiener Kriminalmuseum (Viennese museum of crime). Her wish is my command.

The Wiener Kriminalmuseum features the history of crime in the town of Vienna (Austria). A lot of crimes are shown there in detail. Police photos of the crime scene, murder weapons, skulls of the victims, mummified heads and so on. To make a long story short: A place of fun!

To be serious: The Wiener Kriminalmuseum is definitely not a place for highly sensitive people. But it’s also not that dreadful. If you don’t vomit during a horror film (I don’t know anyone who does), you can definitely go there. It’s very interesting.

Swiss Beach vs Strandbar Herrmann

The good old Strandbar Herrmann was renamed to Swiss Beach because of the Euro 2008. EVERYTHING changes because of this f***in’ Euro. Soccer, what is it good for anyway? The biggest problem is that everything’s getting more expensive.

I think I wouldn’t care if it wasn’t the beer …

Friedensreich Hundertwasser

This is the heating plant in Spittelau, designed by Friedensreich Regentag Dunkelbunt Hundertwasser (Friedrich Stowasser). The plant is next to this subway station.

This is at the “Alte Donau” (“Old Danube“) near this tower and this gym.

Karin and Markus already told me that they found out the name of the tower by the way. But they did not disclose it to my other readers yet. Shame on you!

Under the bridge

This is a station of the tramway 26 in Floridsdorf (Vienna). It’s below a railway bridge and normally it’s a bit dark there. On this shot, there were some sunlight reflections from a window at a nearby building. But there were no Red Hot Chili Peppers far and wide.

Under the bridge by Red Hot Chili Peppers was one of my favourite songs when it was released (a long time ago back in school ). In the meantime I don’t like them that much anymore. Either my taste has changed or their music has become worse. Well, in fact both is true.
