Recipe for hamburgers/cheeseburgers

So you want to make some cheeseburgers or hamburgers (just leave the cheese away ;-) )? You don’t need to be a professionel burger flipper for that. Just follow these instructions and you can have your bite of a really tasty do-it-yourself burger.

How To Make (Cook) A Burger

First of all make sure you have the following ingredients at hand:

  • burger bread
  • minced meat
  • lettuce
  • tomatoes
  • pickled gherkins
  • cheese slices
  • ketchup
  • mustard
  • spices for minced meat and/or salt and pepper
  • cooking oil

In most supermarkets you get spices especially for minced meat/rissoles. Check out the spice shelves at your local supermarket. Alternatively you can use salt and pepper or any other spice you have at hand. Just follow your own taste.

How To Prepare The Burger

1. Mix up the minced meat with the spices and/or with salt and pepper and form some rissoles.

2. Heat up some cooking oil in a pan, put the rissoles in it and roast them on both sides.

3. While the rissoles roast in the pan (always keep an eye on them to make sure they don’t burn), you can cut the bread into halves and prepare the lettuce, tomatoes and pickled gherkins (cut them into slices).

Breakfast at ANKER Brot

We had a relaxed breakfast at ANKER. It was okay, but nothing special. The cutlery was dirty and the saleslady a bit overstrained.

Healthy food rulezzz

In 2007 I managed to nourish myself mainly on healthy food (lots of vegetables, fruits and low fat but high protein dishes) but during the Xmas-holidays I slackened the reins a bit on myself. ;-) Well, it’s hard to say no to the delicious dishes my mum prepares at Xmas. Let alone the biscuits, cakes, cookies, vanilla cornets and so on. Exquisite but definitely too much sugar.

In Paris I also didn’t abstain from delicious but high calory local dishes. But it’s not just about the calories. It’s also the ingredients like vitamins and so on. High sugar dishes often are very low at vitamins. Bad, bad, very bad. So my plan for 2008 is to get back into my healthy diet.

I love shrimps and mozarella

To get started with ‘project health’, I prepared a shrimp salad today.

Green salad, lettuce, tomatoes, yellow paprika, cucumber, mozarella, shrimps, pepper, chili, pumpkin seed oil, vinegar and some wholemeal bread. Yummy and healthy. 2008 will be a great and very healthy year! :-)
